Holy shit， that was beyond amazing。 KJ Charles is a gem。 Hot damn， can that woman write。 An absorbing， perfectly paced plot， authentic， lovable， flawed， wonderfully rounded main and side characters， s-c-o-r-c-h-i-n-g hot sex scenes， and the aforementioned， unparalleled in the MM historical romance world （and prob any other romance world or any genre for that matter） phenomenally written narrative， something I am clearly struggling with here myself this morning。 In case you couldn't tell， I loved Holy shit， that was beyond amazing。 KJ Charles is a gem。 Hot damn， can that woman write。 An absorbing， perfectly paced plot， authentic， lovable， flawed， wonderfully rounded main and side characters， s-c-o-r-c-h-i-n-g hot sex scenes， and the aforementioned， unparalleled in the MM historical romance world （and prob any other romance world or any genre for that matter） phenomenally written narrative， something I am clearly struggling with here myself this morning。 In case you couldn't tell， I loved it。 You will too。 Read it now。 。。。more

K。J。 Charles at her best: interesting characters， realistic problems typical for the historical setting， love interests that you care about and really want to work out and a great sense of humour。 Highly enjoyable！

Engaging and very readable queer regency romance。 Full of tropes， thoughts on family， magnificent thighs， card playing， mathematics， and many other delights。 A fun romp all around。

3。5 stars。I thought this was well written with great characters， including supporting characters like Marianne。 I read the first half super quickly although lost some of my interest towards the end。Overall， it was pretty good！ It just wasn’t super impactful on me。

Fabulous Reading The Gentle Art of Fortune Hunting was an absolute pleasure。 Just like all the other books by KJ Charles ， The Gentle Art of Fortune Hunting is a tightly woven and written story， with interesting characters ， superb banter and lots of steam。

My ultimate favorite KJ Charles book。 I love historical function genre， and sometimes have to swallow my disdain for common unavoidable elements of the genre （class hierarchy， double standards for women’s behavior， etc）。 Those elements come up here， but Charles smashes and resolves them in such a satisfying way。

This book was so adorable。 I typically avoid historical romances like no one's business。 Just not my thing。 But this book was recommended by someone whose taste I trust and I am so glad I gave it a go。 It was fun and charming， with vibrant characters， great dialogue， and sex scenes that were hot and sweet and even a little witty at times。 I adored Robin and Hart。 Their opposites attract， relationship-of-convenience-to-romance， the-gentleman-and-the-rogue thing worked for me。 Though Robin isn't r This book was so adorable。 I typically avoid historical romances like no one's business。 Just not my thing。 But this book was recommended by someone whose taste I trust and I am so glad I gave it a go。 It was fun and charming， with vibrant characters， great dialogue， and sex scenes that were hot and sweet and even a little witty at times。 I adored Robin and Hart。 Their opposites attract， relationship-of-convenience-to-romance， the-gentleman-and-the-rogue thing worked for me。 Though Robin isn't really a rogue at all。 He's just a super adorable young man who wasn't taught any skills outside of the con but still manages to have a strong （albeit idiosyncratic） moral code， a desperate wish for security for himself and his sister， and a heart big enough to hold the world。 And while Hart likes to scowl and be antisocial， all he wants take care of the people he thinks of as his and to love and be loved。The side characters were fantastic （Alice！ Marianne！） and I would read the hell of a spin-off about about the adventures of some of the female characters。 I don't want to specify because， spoilers， but if you read the book， you'll know exactly what I'm talking about。It was a lovely， refreshing read that completely charmed me。 My only complaint is that it's a stand alone and I want to read more of Robin， Hart， and the whole cast of characters。 。。。more

I've just finished reading the Gentle Art of Fortune Hunting， and clearly my NEXT predictable step is to turn back to the beginning and read it AGAIN， because it is SO WORTH DOING。K。J。 Charles never disappoints me， and often delights me no end， and this is one of the 'delights me no end' variety。 SO good and so CLEVER。 I'm not the kind of person that thinks of perfect ripostes at the moment they are actually USEFUL， so it is highly entertaining to me to read people who CAN， and throw the best on I've just finished reading the Gentle Art of Fortune Hunting， and clearly my NEXT predictable step is to turn back to the beginning and read it AGAIN， because it is SO WORTH DOING。K。J。 Charles never disappoints me， and often delights me no end， and this is one of the 'delights me no end' variety。 SO good and so CLEVER。 I'm not the kind of person that thinks of perfect ripostes at the moment they are actually USEFUL， so it is highly entertaining to me to read people who CAN， and throw the best ones out there just like it's no trouble at all。Thank you， all you wonderful authors！ 。。。more
